About
monsterlizard.com was created out of the need for game reviews targeted to parents and kids. There are many video game review sites out there, but none that cater specifically to kids. While ESRB ratings are helpful, they don’t give you the whole picture.
My name is Aaron, and my kids and I wanted to help parents and kids make informed decisions about video game content. We don’t make judgments about what type of games kids should or shouldn’t be allowed to play, we just want to give you the information necessary to make your own informed decision.
What we do:
We tell you what we think about games we play. If there is bad language, we explain it. If there is violence we document it. If there is a good moral plot line, we highlight it. Basically, we try to explain what information we believe is necessary for our visitors to make the decision to play or not play the games we review
How we do it:
We play a lot of games. First, we look at the ESRB rating. In our house we have a no M rating policy for the kids. This is not an absolute policy, but it is enforced strongly by Mom. That doesn’t stop Dad from playing those games, but we try to keep the kids away from them. If I play an M rated game that I do not find inappropriate for the kids, I usually will let them at it. The point is, all M rated games are approved by me and my wife before the kids see them.
Who we are:
Aaron (Big Daddy):
Is a dad who cares what content my kids see and interact with. With the guidance of my wife Heather, we attempt to keep what we deem inappropriate content away from our kids. However, we understand that what we find inappropriate others may have no issue with. We also understand that there are things we don’t mind our kids seeing that others would not want their kids around.
Mikey (IguanaMike) :
Is a 12 year old boy that likes video games. He keeps up with the latest happenings in the gaming world, and likes to share his knowledge with others. He is active in his church youth group and loves ministering Christ to everyone. Mikey also loves to read. On most days, he can be found on his bed reading game magazines, comic books or an number of books he has checked out from the library on any given day (usually novels based on video games).
Andrew (SackBoy):
Is a 9 year old boy that is almost what some would call addicted to video games, he cannot get enough of them. If his parents would let him, Andrew would play games from the time he gets out of bed until he passes out from exhaustion. Andrew also is also an artist. He likes drawing, and maintains a blog http://andrewsawsomeimages.blogspot.com/ dedicated to his digital artwork. Andrew also loves parkour (free running) and attends classes weekly. Some day you may see Andrew as a stunt man in some big budget Hollywood production. It will probably be based on a video game.
Dan (KomodoDragon):
Is a 7 year old boy that is true Texan and aspires to be a cowboy and own a farm. He will wear boots with anything (even just underwear) and if you hand him a pair he will tell you, “cowboys don’t wear flipflops”. Dan is learning to play the piano, and has been writing songs since he could talk. His hit single “Monkey on the House” is a must hear experience. Dan plays games, but he would rather be running around the house, singing a song, writing the next smash hit musical, or just being the Mysterious Stranger.

Hi, this is Big Daddy. I am a gamer and a father of 3 boys and 2 girls. I know how difficult it can be to find age appropriate games for our kids. I created monsterlizard.com to help parents and kids find games that fit their life-styles and moral principals.
