Brink by Bethesda for PS3 is a fresh first-person shooter from Splash Damage (creators of the Enemy Territory series) that blends single-player, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay into one seamless experience, allowing gamers to develop their character across all modes of play. The isolated futuristic paradise known only as the Ark has become the humanity’s last hope for survival, but overcrowding and rising tensions threaten to incite civil war and destroy humanity’s final refuge. Notable features include in-depth character customization, context-sensitive goals and rewards (based on the status yourself, your teammates and the enemy) and an unprecedented SMART button system that purportedly eliminates the headache of first-person navigation (jumping puzzles, ladders etc.) by dynamically evaluating the player’s goals and moving the character accordingly when the system is activated. In the far-flung future of Brink, players will fight to save humanity’s last refuge from total destruction.
